Which MERV rating do you need?
MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) runs from 1 to 16 for home filters. Higher numbers catch smaller particles. The right pick depends on your home and your system.
MERV 8: basic
Stops dust, lint and pollen. Protects your furnace and AC coil. A fine choice for homes without pets or allergies.
MERV 11: best for most homes
Adds pet dander, mold spores and fine dust. This is what our techs recommend for most Chicagoland homes.
MERV 13–16: allergies & smoke
Catches smoke, bacteria-size particles and very fine allergens. Use a 4- or 5-inch media filter so your blower isn't starved for air.

1-inch filters
Every 1–3 months. Monthly with pets or during heavy heating and cooling season.
2-inch filters
Every 2–3 months.

How do I find my air filter size?
Look at the cardboard frame of your current filter. The size is printed on the edge as width x height x depth, like 16x25x1 or 20x25x4. Can't find it? Text a photo of your old filter to (708) 671-0813 and we'll match it.
How often should I change my furnace filter?
1-inch filters every 1 to 3 months, 2-inch filters every 2 to 3 months, and 4- to 6-inch media filters every 6 to 12 months. Change sooner if you have pets, allergies or construction dust.
What MERV rating should I buy?
MERV 11 is the best fit for most homes. It catches pet dander, pollen and mold spores without restricting airflow. For allergies or smoke, choose MERV 13 in a 4- or 5-inch media filter.
How does auto-ship work and how much do I save?

Are the sizes on filters exact?
No. Filter sizes are nominal, rounded up to the nearest inch. The actual filter is slightly smaller so it fits your cabinet. Always order the nominal size printed on your old filter.
