Which MERV?
MERV 8 stops dust and lint. MERV 11 is the sweet spot for most homes: pet dander, pollen and mold spores. MERV 13 catches smoke and finer particles, and works best in a 4- or 5-inch media cabinet so airflow stays healthy.
How often to change it
Every 6–12 months
Change sooner with pets, construction dust or someone with allergies at home. A clogged filter makes your furnace and AC work harder and cost more to run.

Filter questions we hear every day
Is the size on my filter the exact size?
No. The printed size is the nominal size, rounded up. A 16x25x4 filter actually measures a little smaller so it slides into the cabinet. Order the size printed on the frame of your old filter.
How does auto-ship work?
Pick auto-ship at checkout and choose how often. We ship your filters on that schedule at 15% off. Combine it with a multi-pack to save up to 30% total. You can skip, change or cancel anytime.
Is a higher MERV always better?
Not always. A high-MERV 1-inch filter can choke airflow on some systems. If you want MERV 13, a 4- or 5-inch media filter gives you the filtration without the restriction. Not sure what your system handles? Call us.
Can ARR change my filter for me?
